Another classic when it comes to visual style, this film takes place in a futuristic Los Angeles where a police officer must search for human like androids wanted for murder. The movie has a very gritty, dirty kind of future, yet it is obviously a very futuristic space.

Moronic Mondays - Large Electrical Plugins

Large Electrical Plugins

We have all experienced plugins like this; large and cumbersome, they cover more than one electrical outlet and the are the worst. Besides covering other ports, they are also heavy while their wires are weak or thin making it easy to pull apart if stressed. Bad design.

Good Friday - Lamp

Art Deco Desk Lamp

This lamp beautifully melds bronze and glass into a beautiful curved form. Reminiscent of the art deco style, this lamp has always been a favorite of mine.

Dead Space

This horror, science fiction, survival games takes place on a floating ship that has been taken over by zombie like aliens where out protagonist must fight for his life. The protagonists armor along with the ship itself has a very industrial and realistic look to it while the aliens are grotesque and disgusting, leading to a very odd juxtaposition.

Xbox 360 Slim Console

Sleek, simple, and different, this console is interesting to look at. While most video games consoles are square to begin with, this one contains many convex bends and corners which gives it a very sexy yet aggressive look. The glossy black color scheme gives it a mirror like finish which gives it a very modern look.

This film takes place inside of a computer which allows for the film to use really stylistic visuals. Using sleek shapes and a high contrast color tones, it creates a visual feast for the viewer.

Borderlands 2

This video game takes place on a huge wasteland of a planet home to many dangerous alien species, where you must use the nearly endless supply of guns to fend them off and find treasure. The game uses a cartoon like, cell shaded style which gives it the look of a more mature comic book or cartoon.

Moronic Mondays - Phone Charging Ports

Charging Ports 

This little thing right here has brought me more pain and anger than anything else. It bends easily and will never allow you to freely charge your phone. It is made out of a flimsy material with nothing really holding the cord in place. In order to charge, it must be in the most precise of positions; even with the slightest touch, it will stop charging.

Good Friday - Drinking Glass

Drinking Glass

While this is technically just a stemless wine glass, I don't drink and just really like the shape of the glass. It has this great curvature to it that just makes drinking out of it an enjoyable experience.

District 9 

Another film where they perfectly blend the most unrealistic ideas in the most unrealistic of ways. This science fiction movie shows a realistic approach to what life would be like if an alien species was stranded on earth and forced to live in slums. The CGI blends seamlessly into the world and it's designs allow it to be there without looking ridiculous.

Halloween - Costume

I just wanted to post my costume which I put together based on one of my favorite super hero designs. I just wish I was in as good of shape as Batman.

Halo

This futuristic video game keeps a rather grounded view of the future where intergalactic space travel is possible and where we are at war with an alien species. The alien species tend to use more sleek, organic shapes, while the humans tend to have more industrialized, mass produced look, yet they mesh together so perfectly.

HTC Evo 4G LTE

This cell phone has been in my pocket for the last 2 years and despite some minor design flaws such as it's weak charging port, it is a great phone. It has a beautiful interface and one of my favorite design features of any phone I've encountered; It's kick out leg stand which allows the phone to be placed on a table and viewed like a picture frame.

Aliens 

The sequel to the original Ridley Scott film Alien, Aliens is a science fiction film that expands upon the original in every way. The design of the creatures itself are a perfect balance of elegance and terror, while the human military is aggressive yet personal.

Good Friday - My Winter Coat

Winter Coat

It is comfortable, form fitting, and generally interesting to look at. It is reminiscent of eskimo jackets and a pea coats which gives it a mix of style and functionality. Personally, I love it because it reminds me of the jacket the protagonist wears in Assassin's Creed 3. Because I'm awesome.

Fallout 3

Taking place in the large, post-apocalyptic wasteland of Washington DC, the game is a pseudo- futuristic, nuclear inspired world. It takes 40's, 50's, and 60's common pieces and then combines them with futuristic tendencies.

Dean Exotica Koa Wood Acoustic- Electric Guitar

She is a sexy, sexy beast of an instrument. Personally known to me as Daina, she is made of beautiful orange brown Koa wood. The elegant curves and light weight form make her a dream to play with and extremely comfortable to hold.

The Dark Knight Trilogy

The Christopher Nolan films took the comic book hero Batman and thrust it into the world of realism. Using real world designs and practicability, the films made the seemingly impossible, become very real.  I personally try to utilize the thought process of the films where I question how well my designs will blend in with the real world.
